6. DEBATE: CAPITAL PUNISHMENT SHOULD BE GIVEN TO A HIGH CORRUPTION CASE.

Hi! I'm here going to discuss about my last week's debate. It's about Capital punishment should be given to a high corruption case. I'm on PRO side!

Corruption or rasuah (Latin: corruptio of meaningful verb corrumpere rotten, corrupt, destabilizing, twisting, bribing) is the actions of public officials, politicians and civil servants, as well as other parties involved in the action which is unnatural and not legalabuse the public trust that authorizes them to gain unilateral advantage.

Corruption can occur on many different scales. There is corruption that occurs as small favours between a small number of people (petty corruption), while there is the corruption that affects the government on a large scale (grand corruption), and corruption that is so prevalent that it is part of the every day structure of society. "Petty" corruption occurs at a smaller scale and occurs within established social frameworks and governing norms. Examples include the exchange of small improper gifts or use of personal connections to obtain favors. This form of corruption is particularly common in developing countries and where public servants are significantly underpaid.
"Grand" corruption is defined as corruption occurring at the highest levels of government in a way that requires significant subversion of the political, legal and economic systems. Such corruption is commonly found in countries with authoritarian or dictatorial governments and in those without adequate policing of corruption by anti-corruption agencies.

Corruption case is extraordinary crime, so to decrease that case we have to give hard punishment to the corruptor. And one of the hard punishment is capital punishment or death penalty. Capital punishment or the death penalty is a legal process whereby a person is put to death by the state as a punishment for a crime. The judicial decree that someone be punished in this manner is a death sentence, while the actual process of killing the person is an execution. Benefit of capital punishment :
1. It is not always cruel.

        Because one corruption case could effect many people, it could took a lot of money that people has been payed or tax to the government. But if the government issued policy about capital punishment, people always said that is cruel and against the human right. I believe that everybody want a justice. Not just an easy justice such as if Gayus Tambunan case. He took our money and the government should punish him but the reality is he use the money for vacation.

2. Shows that the government law is coherent.

         In Indonesia there's a lot of people disobey the government law and said that the executives incompetent. The suspect can't run from the punishment.

3. if it's only a jail punishment the suspect could run away and if he has been released he could easily do it again. A smart corruptor always had crime relatives.

4. So, he's responsible for what he did.

 

5. It decrease the prison population.

            Which saves even more tax payers money. In Indonesia there's so much corruption cases. There's Anas Urbaningrum's case, Gayus Tambunan's case, Andi Malarangeng's case, etc. and they just jailed for couple of years. So if the capital punishment enforced of course it will decreasing prison population and Indonesia will be properous. There will be no more poor people, traffic jam, and others.

Disadventage of capital punishment :
1. Against human right
2. It takes human life
3. It's cruel
4. If there's a mistake, they can't give back his/her life
5. The government become arbitrary
6. There will be a lots of conspiration
